Buckie And District Pipe Band

About the Band

The Buckie and District Pipe Band comes from the small fishing town of Buckie, in Moray, in the North East of Scotland. There are many members from other various towns in the surrounding area; from Portsoy to Fochabers to Elgin. The pipe band was founded in 1988 and is still going strong today. New recruits are always welcome in the ranks.

Massed bands at Aberlour

The Band has a practice every Thursday night in the Fishermans Hall in Buckie. If you are interested in learning the pipes, or you have prior experience playing the pipes, then you are more than welcome to come to our practices. Use the Contact Us link to the left to find out more.

The Band attends many events throughout the local area almost every weekend during the summer months, as well as many other events during the rest of the year. These include local galas and fetes, charity events and of course, the annual Highland Games. The band is in regular attendance at the Dufftown, Aberlour, Nethy-Bridge and Grantown Highland Games.

The Band Ceilidh

The Band has been known to host their own events, most notably the Pipe Band Ceilidh which sees a good attendance from friends and associates of the band.

The Band has also been known to travel abroad by invitation, with such events being very successful, although perhaps slightly surprising to the locals!

Anyway, we hope you enjoy our website, and as they say in Buckie: 'Haste Ye Back'
